Yangzhou Chengsen Plastics Co.,Ltd | Updated: Jun 06, 2018

North American film industry giant Sigma Plastics Group is increasing its recycling capacity with the addition of four new NGR high output recycling lines, Next Generation Recycling Machines announced May 10.

Set for delivery in May the four S:GRAN 125 machines will reprocess over 4 million pounds per month of film scrap from Sigma's in-house film production, said the Feldkirchen, Austria-based recycling machinery supplier.

The new recycling lines represent an investment of nearly $3 million and will be installed at Sigma plants in Pompano Beach, Fla.; Spartanburg, S.C.; Jacksonville, Fla.; and Nashville, Tenn.

Sigma Plastics Group, based in Pompano Beach, has 42 manufacturing facilities producing an annual throughput of over 2 billion pounds of resin.

The company manufactures a variety of flexible packaging products servicing the industrial, agricultural, food, medical, retail, and converter film markets.

With the new recycling lines, said NGR, Sigma will be able to reprocess materials directly into new film production.

As the single largest customer of NGR, the Sigma Group has over 40 NGR recycling machines operating at plants in the U.S. and Canada.
